Description

The first Labor Day parade was held in New York in 1882. On the occasion of May 1st, as in previous years, celebrations related to the celebration of day will be organized in many countries around the world, both by government bodies and organizations of employers and employees as part of tripartite cooperation in force at the International Labor Organization (ILO). Due to the current situation and related restrictions, this year's celebrations of the Labor Day will focus on events most likely available in digital form/space. On May 18, 1882, the founder and secretary general of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Carpenters, socialist Peter J. McGuire, at a Central Workers' Union rally in New York, proposed a resolution which led to the establishment of the world of work celebrated in the US. This proposal was enthusiastically received and the organization set the date of the first celebration on September 5, 1882. The dying Federation of Organized Trade Unions and Workers passed two resolutions at the 1884 Congress that had far-reaching impact on the American labor movement. One of which led to the establishment of the May holiday. For more than 138 years, Americans have celebrated Labor Day on the first Monday of every September. But with over a century of history to be searched, you can forgive not knowing about the origins of the event. The world is built on every workers’ contribution and all of them deserve equal respect!
