I’m looking for a local helper to do up to 20 hours of yard and garden clean up on a property in Castro Valley. Work will include digging, weed whacking and pulling, mulching, cutting small tree branches, trimming bushes, mixing and moving soil and compost, cutting gopher wire, and moving, stacking, and dumping yard debris. The space is a bit wild, not manicured, and is active with lizards, birds, beneficial insects, earthworms, and other life. I need someone who enjoys the natural life of a garden, not someone who is freaked out by it. I’m looking for someone strong and fit with at least a couple of years experience in this kind of work, able to comfortably work independently or in a team with me, and a willingness to work hard, get dirty, endure thorns, and handle the other elements of real outdoor work. Be able to use basic English, have your own tools & truck, follow instructions, and sign a liability waiver. Tools needed: chainsaw, weed whacker, shovel, posthole digger, iron rake, leaf rake, branch cutters, wire cutters. Provided: wheelbarrow. Pay is cash, around $15/hr, depending on your skills and work efforts. Possible bonus when work is done quickly and well. You’ll work 3-4 hours in a day, for 3-5 days, and more work is possible if it's a good fit.
