HSSV is the first organization ever to meet the model shelter standard-of-care guidelines put forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians.  To apply:   Overview This position is responsible for maintaining HSSV’s building operations as directed and to provide the highest level of service to the organization. The Facilities Department is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Facilities Maintenance Technician who is passionate about creating personable experiences and life-long memories. Duties and Responsibilities - Learn and apply HSSV’s standard operating procedures. - Maintain a clean, safe work environment and work areas, tools, and spare parts in a systematic, organized and clean fashion. - Install new or replacement machinery, equipment and fixtures following applicable building codes. - Responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance and performing repairs. - Apply applicable codes and regulations to maintain a safe environment. - Perform routine inspections of building facility equipment, noting deficiencies and initiates repairs. - Responsible for recording equipment conditions and malfunction reporting to management. - Lubricate and clean all rotating equipment such as pumps, motors and valves to ensure that they are maintained in good condition. - Perform PMs on critical equipment and facilities items on-time (per PM schedule). - Track all work performed through FMX including close out of service requests and associated hour/costs. - Restock supplies and replenish inventory and products. - Handle shipping/receiving and light janitorial duties. - Respond to customer requests to address facility deficiencies. - Work directly with the manager on growth opportunities - Other job duties may be assigned as needed. Requirements - Minimum of one year building maintenance experience. - Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing & HVAC systems. - Working knowledge of basic electric theory, wiring and 120/277v electrical systems and working knowledge of basic electric theory, wiring and electrical systems. - General knowledge of building, electrical and plumbing. - Forklift use required. - Knowledge of applicable trade safety practices; working knowledge of building codes; and basic knowledge of electrical theory and mechanical principles. - Professional, friendly manner and excellent customer service attitude and abilities. - Good interpersonal skills and good verbal and written communication skills. - Enthusiastic, responsible and dependable team player. - Self-motivated, takes initiative, anticipate the needs of others and willing to acquire new skills. - Well organized and detail oriented. While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly be required to sit; stand; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Occasionally be required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work Days and Hours Hours are flexible and based on organizational need. HSSV is a 24/7/365 organization. Hours may include days or evening hours, weekdays or weekends, depending on staffing needs.
