Crew Supervisor – Riparian Restoration and Invasive Plant Management - $20-24/Hour
June 21st – September 24th
Crew Leader needed for a small crew (5-8 people) tasked with invasive plant management and riparian restoration in the Lake Quinault area. This is a successful ongoing, restoration project to restore riparian function and protect salmon habitat. Work schedule typically involves 4-day weeks (40 hours). Shared crew housing is available near the project area. Company transportation is provided from the shared crew housing.
Job Duties:
• Work with project sponsor to understand project area maps, including access areas.
• Under indirect supervision, prepare truck, backpack sprayers and other gear and equipment for invasive plant control.
• Following pre-determined prescription, supervise mixing and application of aquatic herbicide.
• Utilizing provided GPS equipment, track daily locations of invasive plants treated.
• Maintain daily work logs and herbicide application records.
• Follow field operation procedures, making sure all safety measures and protocols are met.
• Lead safety and team meetings, maintaining a positive and cooperative work atmosphere.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively lead by example and maintain a productive and respectful tone.
• Report to work consistently throughout the project period.
Requirements:
• Washington State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Washington Pesticide Applicators License with Aquatic Endorsement. (Company will provide study materials and pay for testing.)
• Experience with, or ability to learn operation of GPS units.
• Ability and desire to work in the outdoors to protect a pristine Northwest river system.
• Ability to work with backpacks weighing up to 40 pounds.
