Hello everyone! I am a 54 year old man with a disability who is looking for a personal assistant. We have a great team, and one of our members is moving out of state to pursue their dreams, which is why we have an opening. I am looking for someone to help me with all kinds of things. I need help with bathing, toileting, grooming, eating, light housekeeping and laundry and hundreds of other things. I use a wheelchair to get around in this world. I am a fun and busy guy and am always on the move. I am happily married, and employed full time. When I am not working, I like to talk on my amateur (HAM) radio (as well as program it), swim in my backyard pool, take walks with my service dog, or take a drive in my wheelchair accessible van. What am I looking for? Someone with a good driving record, who likes to learn new things, who can learn a set routine yet be flexible when routines change, as well as follow verbal directions in English. Experience working with a person with a disability is not necessary, and I will train the right person. Please be reliable and on time. There is no direct lifting with this position as there is a ceiling lift installed in my bedroom and my bathroom. You will need to be able to reposition me both in my wheelchair and when lying down. I occasionally travel for work. Pre-pandemic. Not traveling at the moment. (usually within the state of California, perhaps out of state once per year.) You do NOT have to travel with me unless you WANT to travel with me and get paid while traveling. The shifts we have open are on weekends, from 6 am to 4 pm both Saturday and Sunday. We can flex those hours a bit if you need to. If you need a few more hours, we can try to work around your needs.
