Description

Obie is a 15 hands high, 7.5 year old gelding. He used to be a ranch horse in Montana but then he hurt his coronary bands on his front feet so he was retired a few years ago. We got him from the kill pen in November. Because of his hooves splitting when they're growing out, he would be a pasture pet or light riding only. He stands like a champion for the farrier. He loads and unloads from the trailer perfectly. Because he was a ranch horse and they never kept a halter on him or obviously led him around, if he sees you holding a lead rope or a halter he runs the other way. With time he would easily get used to these. He just doesn't understand what you're doing with them yet. He is very curious and nosy. He has to know what you're doing all the time. He's very sweet and walks right up to you as long as you don't have a lead rope or a halter in your hand. 😊 Obie is looking for his permanent home. He's an extremely easy keeper. In fact, he's gained so much covid weight, he could definitely use a diet.😂 If you may be interested in Obie, you must be able to provide basic necessities such as shelter, food, water, hay, farrier visits and future vet bills. Please send me a message letting me know a little about what you can provide him. To whomever takes him, if any time it doesn't work out we would like him back here.
