Description
Hey!
I'm a folk singer-songwriter spending this summer in Brattleboro (I typically swing between VT, NY, and Philly where I go to school) and am hoping to start a band to gig acoustically with self. written music and covers. I have solid recording experience (Music Tech major at school), an empty shed with reasonable acoustics, an undying love for Americana and folk music, a few past projects on Spotify/ my bandcamp if you want to get a feel for my songwriting style
(https://silasspooner.bandcamp.com/track/the-cycle).
I am seeking a dummer, female vocalist, mandolinist, fiddle player, another acoustic guitarist, the works. Honestly, if you're interested just email.
I would be aiming for a sound similar to Langhorne Slim / Gregory Alan Isakov. Other inspos are Wilco, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, John Prine, Jason Isbell, The Tallest Man On Earth, Bright Eyes, Marcus King.
I am serious about my work as a songwriter and about becoming more well established in the Brattleboro area this summer gigging. I would definitely be looking to record at least a single or EP, and to continue the band on beyon the summer assuming we have success.
Gear I Currently Possess: Acoustic Electric Martin, Gibson, Sm57, Sm58, AT2020, Various stands and cables, A large empty shed, a very picturesque and inspiring stretch of wilderness to tromp through, a small mixer for live events, Shakers, and a Fender Supersonic in need of some slight repairs
