Is it inefficient to use Government to create jobs?

Or should we rely on corporations and rich people at this stage of the game. Taxpayers paid for San Francisco's bridges and still pay for them. Are we happy to have them? How would life be without a bridge? A road? Be happy for the good things we create. It could be worse, especially without the government, which in America (and I wish more Americans could learn this) is only supposed to be the people and their votes, which are starting to turn as green as a new leafed tree.
