Description
If you like to put on a big wig and rhinestones and channel Classic Country favorites like Kitty, Patsy, Loretta, Emmy Lou, Tammy, and Dolly then you may just be the pill to fit the bill! We are a fun, easy going, group of 30 and 40 somethings that have been playing classic country music in 'character' for 15 years here in the bay area. Our front lady is moving to Nashville and leaving some big boots to fill. Ideally, besides having a great voice and sincere love for the genre, stage presence and improv banter (and a little acting chops) are key. We have developed stage characters that play out a bit of shtick during our show including some props and always great costumes! We are 5 musicians utilizing pedal steel guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, piano, accordion, banjo, bass, drums, washboard and more. If you play an instrument, that's a huge bonus (especially fiddle)! Two of us also sing lead vocals and we love those beautiful 3 part harmonies so it's also important for you to be able to harmonize so we can all back each other. We are looking for someone who can be pretty dedicated as things get back to "normal" and be available for several gigs/month (weddings, wineries, breweries, county fairs & festivals, bars and roadhouses). Practice schedule would be fairly light once everything is in the pocket. We rehearse in Noe Valley. We are a serious band but also very good friends that love to laugh together as much as play music. Egos and drama are not welcome. First and foremost is a fun experience for us and the audience, sharing the music we love in a unique way.
Please tell us a bit about yourself and your experience. Please share samples if you have them: audio, video, pics, whatever you have.
