Description
I'm not a drummer by trade I'm actually a guitar player but I've found myself sitting in on drums at jam sessions on occasion and would love to continue. I'm probably an advanced beginner drummer who needs a lot more time behind the set to make it up to intermediate (lessons would help too). However this isn't really my goal. If you have a light hearted and preferably low volume jam session, primarily simple blues based progressions I might fit in.
Here's what I can't do: play songs as recorded on the record. Play anything more than basic beats, simple shuffles, etc. I cannot play hard rock, jazz, fusion, latin, etc.
Here's what I can do: The rhythm section is the most important part of any band. As a guitar player it took me a long time to figure this out but now I say this with the utmost respect to my bass playing and drumming brethren. Timing is everything and although I'm far from perfect with timing, I certainly can drift, I'm at least astute enough to aim for perfection.
Here's the nuts and bolts:
I'm senior (between 55 and 65)
Really do not like loud music anymore, jamming at a patio party would be sweet but not at Slim's Last Chance
I have an electric set but not an acoustic set, although eventually I plan to get one
I'd prefer to stay in the south King County area but would consider venturing a little bit north or south for a jam
If you have a little blues band and you're looking for a drummer, I'd be happy to sit in while you conduct your search for a real drummer.
