We are a long time home improvement company looking for a subcontractor who has his own van/truck & tools, whom we can train to install attic fans. Pay is good and the work is interesting. You will earn between $200 and $400 per day, depending on the size of the job. We can usually keep you busy 4 to 6 days a week. This work can be part time or full time depending on our needs and your circumstances. This work runs through the Summer months and typically ends in August or early September You will work as a subcontractor and carry auto and liability insurance. You will be responsible for purchasing certain consumables used on the job such as lumber, screws, wire, etc. Requirements: You need to have your own vehicle: a van is preferred but a pickup truck can work as well. An SUV or regular automobile will not be sufficient. Please do not respond if you do not have a suitable vehicle. You must have good communication skills and be able to speak to customers at the job site and you must be able to learn quickly and follow our instructions. You also need your own set of basic hand tools. Hammers, saw, cordless drill, chop saw, ladders, etc. You will need to carry your own work liability insurance, which we can help you obtain In addition, you must be in excellent health and in top physical condition, able to work on roofs as well as in attics. This work involves climbing up and down ladders in the heat of the summer, often carrying tools and building materials. You must be able to function in a hot attic as well as be able to work on roofs. You need to know the basics of electrical wiring or be able to learn quickly. You must also have a valid drivers' license and a good driving record. The work involves interacting with customers, climbing ladders, cutting ceiling drywall and framing ceiling joists, installing the fan in the attic, hooking up the electric switches and cutting new roof vents. We will train you to do all these things so previous experience is not necessary. It is essential that you are able to learn quickly and exactly follow our instructions.
