I have two ducks, one m one f, female is mallard, males breed unknown, initially I had 3 ducks who I got as ducklings, I handled since ducklings, and they still came out to not like being handled by people, regardless around that time I also got a puppy, so that way they’d learn to coexists hopefully without any issues, unfortunately that wasn’t the case and the puppy even though still a puppy killed one of my other ducks, the females sister and his behavior towards them is too rough for my comfort of having these animals live here together, they are to be kept as pets only, they love the water especially the mallard, the male protects the mallard at the best of his ability. I don’t want to rehome them but it’s not fair for the dog to be locked away so the ducks can have free roam and have fear of the ducks to be locked away so the dog can be out.
