Description
The police officer's
firearm is there, if, they feel they need it. Otherwise it stays, secured,
in a double or triple lock holster.
A few decades ago the
holsters just had a single strap with a snap catch to retain it. Too many
times, the "public" was able to get the gun out of the holster. Holsters
had to change, because the public changed.
A few decades ago, the
police did not wear bullet proof vests. They had ties, polished shoes or
boots, and pressed shirts and trousers. Their attire changed, because the
public changed.
A few decades ago,
their gear was a whistle, handcuffs, maybe mace, a baton and a 6 shot
revolver. Remember when a police officer blew a whistle, and everything
stopped? They could even shout, stop that person, and the public would
assist. Today, if an officer blew a whistle, it would be merely a signal
for a gathering of angry citizens with phone cameras. The police equipment
changed because the public changed.
The reason they now
have vests, semiautomatic pistols, tasers, shields, helmets, triple lock
holsters, helicopters is because of the systemic change, by the public.
Look around, open your
eyes and ears. Security, cameras, access to areas has all changed. The
public changed. Stop blaming the police!
Try this. Act in a
manner, which the police officer, does not feel a need to deploy their
firearm. Consider this, if the officer leaves the firearm in the holster,
and if you don't try to take it out, the triple lock holster, will keep it
right there.
The public changed. The
public needs reforming, not the police. The police react to the needs
brought on by the public.
