Yoga in nature on a beautiful urban farm, where nature, asana and yoga wisdom meet. For all levels, mind, body, spirit flow. Certified Yoga Teacher Beth Mwano will teach an hour long yoga class at Charles Koiner Center for Urban Farming, a Silver Spring land trust where the community is encouraged to gather. (https://www.ckcfarming.org/) The time will start with a meditative walk around the small farm. Beth is a volunteer at the farm, as well as an herbal student in year two of her studies to be a registered herbalist, yoga and dance teacher. The yoga class is an intermediate level, but is accessible to all and you're encouraged to make adjustments to fit your level of comfort. It will be a mix of flow and held asanas (postures). Beth received her yoga training from Kripalu Yoga Center and is also the creator of Mindful Movement, where authentic movement and creative dance are combined along with elements of dance movement therapy. Beth is drawn to yoga for it's body-positive approach to mindfulness and its holistic restorative nature. She believes yoga, in its full concept also can be an aid in healing trauma and personal wounds. Yoga is much more than a physical exercise, though it is fabulous for this goal as well. Beth's approach to yoga is both gentle and challenging, allowing the participant to choose what approach is best for them. You will be set up safely six feet apart and though don't need a mask while on the mat, are asked to wear one when arriving and leaving, for the safety of all around. You are welcome to hang out at the farm and enjoy the food and plants there. Class Schedule Has MULTIPLE DATES AND TIMES--ALWAYS ON SUNDAYS.
