A guided nature connection experience for the purpose of enhancing health, wellness, and connection.
Nature therapy is an evidence based wellness practice inspired by the Japanese tradition Shinrin-Yoku which translates to forest bathing. Bathing in the atmosphere of wooded areas and other natural landscapes has been shown to provide many health benefits such as improved immunity, decreased heart rate, and increased focus, to name a few. A nature therapy walk follows a clearly defined sequence of guided events that creates a structure for the experience while embracing the many opportunities for creativity and serendipity that arise from the forest, the moment and the individuals.
This practice differs from a typical nature walk because here we are prioritizing the sensory experience over intellectual understanding. It is not a strenuous hike, we will be moving at a slow mindful pace and stopping periodically to interact with nature and participate in sensory opening activities. This is likely to be a different but hopefully very rewarding experience for many.
Masks and respecting COVID precautions will be required to attend and ensure a safe space. Pre registration required 24hours before the event. There are no prerequisites, necessary fitness levels, or exclusions of any kind, ALL are welcome!
