Description
I play in a gigging blues/classic rock band, but I'd really like to find a gigging jam band to join.
I'm not a jazz-head but I know theory. I'd say my soloing style is more in line with Jerry, Trey, and the Allman Brothers than the shreddy legato prog/metal/YouTube stuff. I try to play melodies on top of the chords rather than mindless blizzards of notes.
I prefer playing regular gigs, maybe 2-3 a month, plus weekly practice sessions, but I'm flexible. Open to any and all genres. I love when we get into a nice open-ended groove over a familiar song and everybody takes turns on solos. Maybe even some dual-lead harmonies.
Influences/preferences include The Big Wu, Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, early 90s Red Hot Chili Peppers, Band of Gypsys-era Hendrix, Santana, James Brown, Talking Heads, Curtis Mayfield, Widespread Panic, Willie Hutch, and all kinds of cumbia music.
I have plenty of pro gear for whatever the gig or mood calls for.
Let me know if I sound like a good fit for your band. Thanks!
