Description

We’re rolling out our first pop-up exhibit dedicated to helping people craft fulfilling lives by featuring accomplished people from N Texas. We’re so excited to introduce our first educational exhibit entitled, “Life Maps: A Journey Back to My Twelve-Year-Old Self” at House of Shine in June. We’re rolling out our first pop-up exhibit dedicated to helping people craft fulfilling lives by featuring accomplished people from north Texas. “Our exhibit will examine the lives of nine people and visually illustrate how experiences are like points in a connect-the-dot picture. When we follow fulfilling paths, our dots connect in such a way that the picture revealed is of a life well-lived,” said Dr. Claudia Beeny, founder and executive director of House of Shine. “We will look back as far as ten or twelve years-old, asking questions such as: What kind of student were you? How did you spend your time? Did talents and interests you possessed as a young person influence or impact your career path? Which life experiences (good and bad) have proven to be most influential? If you could deliver a message to your twelve-year old self, what would it be?” Beeny said. The exhibit features: Lewis Johnson, sportscaster; Traci Bernard, healthcare administrator; Samuel Barsoum, animator/game developer; Brady Clayton, film production; Dr. Magdalena Battles, psychologist/author; Leslie Mitchel, Army colonel/entrepreneur; Brad Uptmore, police officer/social media influencer; Thear Sy Suzuki, EY Business Executive/SMU graduate; and Gabrielle Madison, corporate social impact executive. The exhibit opens June 1st to the public and is on shining display at House of Shine through the end of August. To register for a museum tour including the exhibit, go to https://www.houseofshine.com/visit/admission and select a day/time.
