Take a couple of hours to learn how to increase your chances of surviving an active shooter event.
Unfortunately, as the country is slowly reopening from the pandemic active shooter incidents are making a reappearance. Taking a small amount of time to plan ahead can make the difference between life and death when active threats arise. In this seminar the Homeland Security model of Run-Hide-Fight will be explained, and we will focus on techniques to disarm the attacker in situations where fighting is necessary.
This seminar will focus on dealing with both handguns and long guns (i.e., shotguns or rifles) in what is referred to as Close Quarter Battle (CQB). The strategies learned will be applicable to either an active shooter event or a self-defense situation against an attacker with a firearm. The basic functions of a semi-automatic pistol, rifle, and shotgun will be covered, as this is significant in understanding the strategies used against an attacker with one of these weapon systems. Participants will be taught points of reference to combat an attacker armed with either a handgun or long gun, which can be used as stand-alone techniques, or integrated into a technique the participant already knows.
