This event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. The event is designed to include breakout rooms for open discussion with members of the panel and community members, so we are asking all who wish to attend to register for this event. Following the breakout sessions, we will all come back together to share thoughts and feedback to the entire group. PROGRAM: Opening Remarks from Moderator/Guest Speaker: Colette Phillips, President & CEO of Colette Phillips Communications, Inc. Panel Introductions: Chief of Police, Michael D'Entremont Town Manager, Leon Goodwin Select Board Vice Chair, Dimitria Sullivan School Committee member, Victor Hebert Human Rights Commission Chair, Joseph Borsellino Asian American resident, Philjay Solar Jewish American resident, James Kaufman African American resident, Tracey Franklin Latino American resident, Claudio Sierra Open Discussion #1: Open discussion and questions from attendees to panelists and moderator Breakout Sessions (45 minutes): Attendee will be the focus of open conversations and the panelists will be listeners and facilitators. Each breakdown room session should strive to produce two recommendations as to what actions Dedham can take to best achieve productive race and ethnic relations in our Town. The breakout sessions will communicate their recommendations to Ms. Phillips who will recall the panel for open discussion of the recommendations. Breakout Session #1 (15 minutes): Town/Government Education Public Safety HRC/Community General Discussion Breakout Session #2 (15 minutes): Town/Government Education Public Safety HRC/Community General Discussion Breakout Session #3 (15 minutes): Town/Government Education Public Safety HRC/Community General Discussion Open Discussion #2: Attendees will return to open discussion following the second round of breakout sessions to share feedback with the moderator. The moderator will help facilitate the discussion to culminate in recommendations for next steps the Town of Dedham can take toward building an inclusive future.
