Press release from the City of Cambridge: April 30, 2021 Cambridge Police Daily Log: April 29th, 2021 Type # Date & Time Info 04/29/202101:01 INCIDENT 21002818 DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY +$1200, MALICIOUS C266 S12 ALBANY STREET Cambridge Police arrested Avedis Vartanian, 68, 39 Boston Street of Boston for Malicious Destruction of Property. Vartanian willfully and maliciously used a metal/wood caution sign and a garbage can lid to strike the door of a shelter located on Albany Street after he was refused entry. The door sustained a sizeable dent and scratches. The door is a commercial door which would require repair or replacement estimated to cost in excess of $1,200. 04/29/202107:56 INCIDENT 21002820 LARCENY OVER $1200 BY SINGLE SCHEME C266 S30(1) COLUMBIA STREET A Columbia Street resident was scammed on-line with a bank check scheme. 04/29/202109:13 INCIDENT 21002823 LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE C90 S24 CONCORD AVEVUE A resident of Concord Ave reports that while parked in the garage of the building, someone did hit his car, causing damage, and leave the scene without making themselves known. 04/29/202110:43 INCIDENT 21002825 THREAT TO COMMIT CRIME C275 S2 WINTHROP STREET A Winthrop Street resident is being threatened by a party known to him. 04/29/202111:04 INCIDENT 21002826 MISC. REPORT TYPE DAY STREET Cambridge and Somerville Police responded to the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Day Street for a report of a person with a handgun in hand walking to this location. Suspect was never seen by officers. 04/29/202113:03 INCIDENT 21002829 LARCENY UNDER $1200 C266 S30(1) LOPEZ STREET A Lopez Street resident reports that someone did steal items from a delivered package. 04/29/202118:21 TRAFFIC 21002832 LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE C90 S24 BLANCHE STREET A Watertown resident reports an unknown driver sideswiped her vehicle and fled the scene without making themselves known. 04/29/202118:29 INCIDENT 21002831 LARCENY OVER $1200 BY SINGLE SCHEME C266 S30(1) MUSEUM WAY A Museum Way resident reported being defrauded. After posting items for sale on the Offer Up app, the victim was defrauded thorough a forged check scheme. 04/29/202118:53 INCIDENT 21002833 MISC. REPORT TYPE MARCELLA STREET A Marcella Street resident reported possibly hearing one gunshot coming from the area of Cardinal Medeiros Ave. After a search of the area no evidence was located, no other residents reported hearing any sound of a gunshot. 04/29/202120:45 INCIDENT 21002834 MISC.
