LAKE SKINNER, CA — A brush fire reported Friday afternoon near Lake Skinner charred between 5 and 10 acres, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department reported. Air and ground crews were being used to fight the blaze that was reported at 4:30 p.m. The brusher was burning in "light fuels" before crews were able to halt the fire's spread, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. Shortly after 5 p.m., the agency announced crews were expected to remain on scene for several hours to fully contain the fire. There were no immediate reports of injuries or evacuations. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
