Looking for someone to go to Austin Record Convention at Palmer Events Center (May 7th — 9th) serving as a proxy shopper — digging and purchasing records on behalf of a foreign buyer, while being on a video call with him for at least a couple of hours. You'll get a bank wire to cover the expenses and a receive a wearable neck strap for using your phone as a bodycam. After the event you'll send the buyer his purchases by mail and get paid for labor. You get paid by the hour for the time you're on the call, plus for the hassle of packing and shipping out the parcel. The buyer is a record shop owner from Europe, where record fairs are still largely cancelled, and cross-border travel restricted. In fact, there might be several such buyers, so there may be multiple separate gigs for the aforementioned record show — I'm still finalizing the number of buyers interested in the event. I represent a company that acts as a middleman, helping people find proxy shoppers abroad.
You must know the Goldmine Grading Standard, have an eye for scratches, warps, label marks and other signs of wear. Big plus if have a Discogs profile with positive feedback. Big plus also if you have unlimited data plan on your phone, and a portable recharger (power bank), which would allow you to do a longer continuous gig, or work two separate gigs one after the other.
