Rhythm Guitarist/Keyboardist and Drummer seek Bass and Lead Guitar

Meets

Framingham MA

Description

We are a rhythm guitarist/keyboardist and a drummer seeking a bass player and a lead guitar player, hopefully both with vocal ability, to join us in putting together a band to eventually play out around Massachusetts (maybe beyond) and potentially record as well. We would like to play some choice cover tunes along the way, but the hope would be to develop original material as well. We are in our 40s and early 50s, so this is less of a career path thing, as we already have careers/jobs, and more of a desire to just play for the love of music and to develop as musicians. However, this should in no way give the impression that we are not motivated to practice, get tight as a band and then play out in bars, outdoor venues, parties, etc. The guitarist/keyboardist sings as well and both of us write music. This would mainly be a rock thing but would incorporate other genres of music as well. We like everything from rock, blues, folk, jazz, grunge, rap, etc. Some influences include: The Band, Hendrix, the Police, Soul Coughing, etc. Looking for a bass player who is funky and who knows how to work closely with a drummer to create grooves and who can potentially sing as well (lead and background vocals). Also, looking for a lead guitarist who is a good rhythm player and who can play melodically. We are not looking for a shredder, but someone who is tasteful in their playing and is dynamic as well. Vocal abilities would be a huge plus. We have a nice place to practice in Framingham, with a PA system and recording equipment. We are both fully vaccinated and need to be safe as we each have a young child. We would like to get this up and running sooner rather than later to try to get outdoor gigs as soon as this summer. We plan to start auditioning musicians as early as the first and second week of May. If you are interested, please send either a video or audio sample of your playing and singing in your response to this ad. All responses with submissions will receive a reply from us after review of your sample(s). We would likely be planning to practice 1 night per week (same night and time each week) and then once every other weekend as well. Maybe more if we are rehearsing for a specific gig. Thank you for your time!
