LOCATION MAINTENANCE & REPAIR TECHNICIAN – Westfield Palm Desert - Part-time Required 2 visits per week, one visit must be on Friday, Saturday or Sunday; possible additional travel This position is paid $300 a month to service the strollers and $250 a month to service the massage chairs - total salary is $550 a month.   COMPANY BACKGROUND Smarte Carte, Inc. is the leading concessionaire of self-serve vended luggage carts, electronic lockers, commercial strollers and massage chairs, as well as other passenger and guest services. Smarte Carte is headquartered in St. Paul, MN and has operations in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, United Kingdom, and Singapore.   BASIC FUNCTION The Location Maintenance and Repair Technician role at Westfield Palm Desert is a part-time position which requires 2 visits a week with 1 of the visits occurring on Friday Saturday or Sunday. The LMRT has direct responsibility for the strollers and massage chairs at the mall to include: financial management, equipment management, and relationship management. The Location Manager reports to the District Service Manager.   KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This location requires 2 visits a week (potentially more if equipment is inoperable) with 1 of the visits occurring on the weekend.  Work performed is tracked through an app submitted on each visit (candidate will need to own a smart phone). Working knowledge of equipment and ability to perform maintenance and repairs. Maintain clean equipment at all times (strollers and massage chairs are cleaned on every visit). Perform collections accurately, bank and report financial transactions as directed by District Service Manager. Submit reports in an accurate and timely manner. Understand work rules and the expectations of the facility and Smarte Carte. Maintain regular contact with District Service Manager. Ensure a safe working environment by ensuring all equipment is in good repair and working as designed. Interact with facility management (mall management), to establish and maintain good rapport and excellent working relationships. Manage location in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and Smarte Carte and facility policies and procedures. Other assignments as needed.   EDUCATION Technical degree preferred   SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Electrical and mechanical equipment repair Excellent verbal and written communication Ability to maintain records, write reports, and effectively operate a computer Proficient in computer and Smartphone use Electro-mechanical proficiency   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Lift 40 lbs. to waist height Push/Pull 75-100 lbs.
