Most of the time on this job you will be bending down, picking up and racking split 12" or 16" firewood pieces. These probably weigh between 2 to 10 pounds each. We have some landscaping work as well.
Normally we text each other at night to see if we are both free to work the next day. Everyday is OK except Monday. Spring and summer are slow seasons. Fall and winter is busy.
You will be loading split firewood into racks, splitting firewood with a hydraulic log splitter while seated, raking, digging shallow trenches, making trails, carrying light branches into the woods, stacking this, moving that, leveling this, cleaning that. You have to be quite strong and in shape. If it's light rain we still work. Mornings usually beat the worst of the heat and humidity.
You will be alone on the job 95% of the time though we have multiple video cameras. You will be working in a beautiful, forested, quiet area. If someone else is within 10' you'll need to wear a mask. Just keep it with you. You need gloves, a mask, a raincoat and boots, steel-toed preferred.
