A special event to honor the student contributors and celebrate the opening of our courtyard exhibit together!
Stitched Together Opening Reception
Inspired by a 1918 Kingston Daily Freeman article listing the names of shirt factory employees, and an historic photo of women working at F. Jacobson and Sons Shirt Factory, students at Kingston Catholic School, Rhinebeck High, and Ulster BOCES used historical research, writing, and sewing skills to help understand, imagine, and retell the life stories of nine historical girls and women.
Join us for the opening of this collaborative exhibit at the Reher Center courtyard to celebrate the accomplishments of these students during this most challenging of years, and to discover and uplift the stories of immigrant and working women in our community, past and present.
Timed ticketing in 20-minute slots will be required in order to help us maintain social distancing practices. Refreshments will be served. If you cannot attend this opening, then you can still come to see the exhibition! It will be on display June-August.
Special thanks to Maria Cabrera and the Ulster County Archives, teachers Ann Mino, Stephanie Baird and Nicole Foti, and curatorial assistants Sarah Gordon and Maggie Curtin for their work on this project.
The event will be held outside in the Reher Center Courtyard:
