Spunky, Angel, and Dory Spunky has a hormonal implant that needs to replaced every 6 months and costs roughly $300. She is assumed to be the youngest of the two, and we have worked on getting her to no longer bite out of fear which has made her into a huge love bug. Dory is assumed to be the oldest ferret due to how ground down her teeth are, but she loves to chew on the plastic slide that is near their food bowl. Angel was surrendered at Petco a few years ago and she is the sweetest, most ferret like of all 3 of the ferrets. She dooks around, will run away and then lick your face. She prefers to play over being held, but loves a good scratch behind the shoulders. Owning ferrets does not come cheap, so we just ask that anyone contemplating owning ferrets really look at their budget to see if this is truly something that you can afford. Diet: Ferrets cannot digest any type of grains, fiber, or even pea flour. These girls are on a mixed blend of Instinct Raw Boost Grain-free Recipe with Real Chicken cat food, Orijen Cat & Kitten Hit Protein Fresh & Raw Animal Ingredients, and Instinct Ultimate Protein Grain-free Cage-free Chicken Recipe. We do have a plastic container of the mix that comes with the girls. Ferrets can sleep up to 18 hours a day, so they just need about 4-6 hours of playtime/free roam time depending on your household situation. They do have an odor, we can’t deny that. The best way to combat smell is cleaning up their litter every day(each ferret can poop between 4-6 times a DAY), and potentially a weekly clean of their cage with animal safe cleaning products. They do not need to be bathed often, if you do their body will overproduce oils and make it worse. We have found the best way is to have an oatmeal bath every 4-6 months, some people say they only do it once a year. You get used to their odor. There are 2 cages included in their adoption, one is a Kaytee ferret cage and another is a small animal pet cage. They have many, many toys and even have a cat tower if you want to take it. We just want to ensure these loving girls get an amazing home that they deserve.
