We are hiring a technician in the Houston area to service all surrounding cities. Front Door Refinishing Technician: We refinish wooden front doors, it's a process that takes about 2-3hrs at the client's home. The process involves removing the door from the hinges, uninstalling hardware (handles and locks), chemical stripping, sanding, staining, and spraying top-coat. We do 2 - 3 doors per day. A crew of 1 technician (you) and a helper. We work 5-6 days a week depending on the workload. Requirements: Door installation experience Hardware installation experience Woodworking/refinishing experience is required - applying stain and varnishes. Valid TX Driver License. Smartphone with internet capabilities. Must be in good health condition to work outdoors and lift heavy objects (door) A typical day of a technician: The technician schedule will show where the first job of the day will be, and the tech can make his plans for travel that will include traffic and supplies if needed. Arrival at first job location: Greet customer, set expectations, deploy work area, uninstall front door, remove hardware, strip, sand, stain and spray topcoat. install hardware and hang the door back up. Perform a satisfaction survey with the client and collect payment. Record payment with the main office and leave the site for the next job. Travel between jobs can be 5-55minutes, we try to keep a tight schedule as much as possible. during the drive between jobs, time tech can schedule his launch breaks. 2-3 single doors can be done per day OR 1 large project per day. end of the day - return home, stock on supplies at home depot or specialty stores, plan for next-day operations. Training is available. A company vehicle and phone can be provided for suitable candidate
