Looking for an experienced tree climber and a groundsman. CLIMBER JOB DESCRIPTION: The Tree Climber is a skilled position responsible for tree maintenance, pruning and removals on residential and commercial properties using ropes, harness and saddle, works off the ground in the tree canopy and may use truck-mounted lifts. Must be comfortable with various motored equipment such as chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, cranes, skid-steer. GROUNDSMAN JOB DESCRIPTION: The groundsman position is a manual labor teamwork position that utilizes chainsaws, skidsteers, blowers, rakes and stump grinders to complete tree work in a quick, safe manner. Must be comfortable with various motored equipment such as chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, cranes, skid-steer. Each available position is for an individual with a strong work ethic who is able to work as a team and self-motivate to get the job at hand done quickly and safely, someone that enjoys learning new skills, and likes working outdoors. The employee will at all times adhere to Lumberjacks Tree service safety guidelines, performing work according to all policies and procedures. The ideal candidate for either position is a self-motivated, safety minded individual that enjoys working as a part of a team. Requirements: *THIS JOB REQUIRES PHYSICAL LABOR DAILY* - Must have valid driver’s license and available transportation, and ability to obtain a CDL - Ideally have 2+ years of climbing experience (tree climber)/ Chainsaw experience (groundsman) - Be able to lift 50+ pounds - Have the ability to perform strenuous labor in all weather conditions - Be able to work as a part of an established tree work crew and participate in open communication on the job-site for safety. - Ability to tie tree industry knots (climber position) -Must be able to demonstrate basic skills during interview process. Qualities: 1. Is able to follow directions from the team leader and work as a part of the team, using strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills and representing LUMBERJACKS TREE SERVICE in a friendly and professional manner. 2. Reports for duty at the designated location on time each day. 3. Leaves “issues at home” for a time after work, as to avoid distractions and focus on the tasks at hand 4. Supportive and encouraging to others engaged in tree climbing work and cross-trains other crew members 5. Ability to solve problems and achieve common goals 6. Pay attention to detail in order to maintain high quality of SAFETY.*** 7. Possess tree and plant identification skills 8. Participates in all job site safety briefings 9. Utilizes all appropriate personal protective equipment 10. Understands and demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of the ground person position 11. Demonstrates equipment inspection skills 12. Assists with driving, backing, dumping, and parking duties 13. Maintains assigned company gear and places all gear back in assigned location daily. 14. Basic understanding of equipment used daily (chainsaw, skidsteer, leaf blower, stump grinder)
