Through its Department of Housing and Economic Sustainability, Palm Beach County, a partner of the City of West Palm Beach, recently announced the availability of Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) Mortgage Assistance funds. The program will provide emergency financial assistance to homeowners at or below 80% AMI who were negatively impacted financially as a result of the pandemic and are delinquent in their first mortgage and escrow payments.
Up to six months of assistance (not to exceed $10,000) will be provided to eligible households who are at least one-month delinquent (after February 29, 2020) in their home mortgage, escrow payments and/or COA or HOA payments.
To qualify, all homeowners must demonstrate that the costs are directly tied to COVID-19. Additional criteria include but is not limited to:
Income eligibility, Residence must be owner-occupied, The property must not be under contract or have been listed for sale within the last 60 days, Property must be located in Palm Beach County, and Assessed value cannot exceed $331,888. Applications will be processed on a first come, first eligible basis.
