MILFORD, MA — Milford's annual "Top Dog" contest began this week, giving local pooch owners the chance to prove their pet is truly a good boy or girl. The contest allows dog owners to submit a photo during dog licensing season for the chance to win a free license for 2022, plus a gift basket featuring pet treats. Dog licensing season runs through June 30, and costs $25 per intact dog, and $6 for dogs that have either been spayed or neutered. Pet owners must have a valid rabies vaccination to get a license in Milford. The town will charge a $10 late fee for licenses purchased after June 30. To enter the Top Dog contest, submit a photo of your dog to Melanie Laughlin at [email protected]. Dog licenses can be purchased online, at Town Hall or through the mail.
