ANDOVER, MA — The Andover School committee officially voted Thursday to enter a three-year contract with Magda Parvey as the district's new permanent superintendent.
Parvey, currently the chief academic officer of Middletown, Connecticut Public Schools, will begin with Andover July 1.
The committee voted April 12 to hire Parvey as the superintendent.
She replaces Sheldon Berman as permanent superintendent, after Berman resigned at the end of 2020. Claudia Bach currently serves as the interim superintendent.
Prior to her current role in Middletown, Parvey worked as the interim superintendent of schools in New Rochelle, New York and as assistant superintendent for instructional services in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School District in North Carolina.
