Audience: PT/PTA, OT/COTA Audience: PT/PTA, OT/COTA Course Approval #: Pending Course Schedule: Thursday, October 7 - 3:30 pm -8:00 pm Friday, October 8 - 12:00 noon - 8:30 pm Saturday, October 9 - 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Sunday, October 10 - 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Speaker: Ann Elise Kryszak, OTR, CLT, is a treating therapist and educator specializing in advanced practices in Lymphedema Management. She has been a practicing therapist for 40 years and a Lymphedema Specialist for over 20 years. Course Description:  This comprehensive certification course is designed to teach therapists the most current management techniques to effectively treat Lymphedema. Participants will leave this course with a certificate of Comprehensive Lymphedema Management Therapy (CLT) and techniques needed to immediately begin managing patients with Lymphedema. Effective assessment and treatment approaches will be thoroughly discussed and practiced in the laboratory experience. You will gain information pertaining to the necessary manual techniques from Comprehensive Lymphedema Management for American Health Care required to appropriately design a therapeutic treatment approach and self-care program. Objectives: By the end of the course, the participants will, after review of the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, be able to identify three principle functions of the lymphatic system.By the end of the course, the participants will, after review of the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, be able to identify the pattern of lymph flow.By the end of the course, the participants will identify 4 research based theories supporting comprehensive lymphedema treatment.By the end of the course, given the findings of an evaluation of a patient with breast cancer, the participant will be able to demonstrate manual lymph drainage, compression bandaging and appropriate therapeutic exercises.By the end of the course, the participants will explain 3 billing challenges faced when documenting comprehensive lymphedema treatments.By the end of the course, the participants will demonstrate proper massage drainage techniques to enhance lymphatic flow in lower extremity.By the end of the course, when given a random selection of a case scenario of a lymphedema patient by the instructor, the participants will be able to decide on what the appropriate lymphedema treatment is and perform the lymphedema technique on another participant. (i.e. manual lymphedema drainage, wrapping, therapeutic exercise, etc.)By the end of the course, the participants will be able to explain two common diagnostic procedures for lymphedema.Course tuition includes: Comprehensive Lymphedema Advanced Management Handbook, & Bandaging Supplies for Practice.    Recommended attire: Please dress in layers and wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be wrapping upper and lower extremities and will need access.  Non-employee/On-call Therapist Cancellation policy: Cancellations received at least five or more working days before the event are refundable, minus a $20 administrative charge per registrant.  There is no refund for cancellations received less than five working days before the start of course. A refund or voucher will be issued to any participant who is registered to attend a seminar that is cancelled by Centrex Rehab. Centrex Employee Cancellation Policy: Centrex requires a one month cancellation notice from the registered employee.   Centrex will allow one emergency cancellation per employee every 2 years without penalty (i.e. you or family member is sick, car died, etc.)Any no show or cancellation without proper notice and beyond the one allowed emergency cancellation will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. You do not need to bring a ticket to the course with you.
