Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area May 11, 2021 Stated Meeting: Witness It. Moderator Jean Emmons has designated “WITNESS” as the theme for the May 11, 2021 stated meeting. There will be much to Witness. Here are a few teasers to pique your interest: There will be five (yes, 5!!) Open Space Conversations from 3:30 pm to 3:55 pm. Check in to the Zoom Room and choose to participate in one of these conversations: o Hear about the capital improvements planned by Grace Trinity Church, Minneapolis, MN; an exciting Witness to urban ministry o Learn about the building plans of Chain of Lakes Church in Blaine; Witness our newest congregation and its plans to put down roots! o And did you hear that Plymouth PC in Plymouth, MN wants to sell some land? Witness this unique opportunity for the church! o Guess who is going on Sabbatical! More importantly, how can we see the practice of sabbatical as beneficial to pastor and congregation? o Our Spiritual Pilgrimage is drawing to a close, but our anti-racism work continues. And there will be plenty of “presbytery business” to Witness during the meeting: · This is the year of Leader Development, so what are we doing about it? Hear from RE Rocky Rockenstein, chair of Mission, Scholarship & Grants Committee. · Commission on Ministry has four new “Teams” ~ and the Early Intervention & Mediation Team will share how it will approach its work. · We will elect new members to a number of committees; Witness as these leaders accept calls to serve and share their leadership gifts with our presbytery. Our worship will include the Necrology Report, produced by TE Richard Buller, Valley Community PC, Golden Valley, and it will feature organist RE Tom Snyder, playing the Wicks Organ presented by Oliver Presbyterian Church to Valley Community PC some years ago. This glorious opportunity is a wonderful way to honor and celebrate the legacy of Oliver PC. The Zoom Room opens at 3:00 pm. Open Space Conversations are slated from 3:30 to 3:55; Moderator Jean Emmons will call the meeting to order with prayer at 4:00 sharp and we are projecting the meeting will adjourn around 5:45 pm.
