Join us at Herring Run for a stream-side bike ride followed by a stream cleanup as we do our part to maintain the health of the Herring Run
Parks & People Foundation's Branches Program will be partnering with Baltimore's Department of Recreation and Parks for a biking and stream cleanup event on the Herring Run trail. Join us as we enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while biking along Herring Run and remove litter and debris through a stream cleanup.
Who can come?
This event is open to all community members and high-school students in the Baltimore area.
Why should I come?
All participants will have the opportunity to explore Herring Run on bikes and engage in a stream cleanup while gaining knowledge about the benefits of healthy stream ecosystems.
Students who participate will receive service-learning hours for performing the stream cleanup component of this event. Those who attend multiple events will also receive priority placement in the Parks & People Summer Jobs Program! This is also a great volunteer opportunity to include on your resume.
Snacks and water will be provided.
What will I be doing?
Participants will be biking and removing trash and debris from Herring Run (not at the same time!).
What should I wear/bring? Is anything provided?
Wear a mask, closed-toed shoes, pants, a hat, sunscreen, & bug spray.
Bring a water bottle.
