MANHATTAN BEACH, CA —In two separate incidents this week, Manhattan Beach police arrested suspects carrying unregistered loaded weapons.
On Thursday, April 29, at approximately 2:50 a.m., graveyard officers pulled over a male driver while conducting a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation, according to officials.
Once pulled over, the officers located a loaded unregistered handgun with a round in the chamber along with multiple types of ammunition.
"Through a thorough investigation, it was revealed that the driver is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm and it was confiscated," Manhattan Beach Officer Chris Inequez said. The incident occurred in the vicinity of Ocean Ave. and 42nd St.
On Friday, April 30, at approximately 2:50 a.m. graveyard officers doing proactive police work conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a vehicle code violation.
Through investigation, the officers discovered that the male driver was a parolee and found to be in possession of an unregistered loaded handgun with an extended magazine. The driver was arrested on multiple charges.
"Our investigators contacted the parole officer, and the suspect's parole has been put on hold," Inequez said.
This incident occurred in the vicinity of Manhattan Beach Blvd. and Valley Drive.
