ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police have handled cases involving a possible coach scam, a stolen car, an ex-boyfriend's messages, a person eluding police, driving violations and warrants. Here is information from the police reports: Possible coach scam A resident in the 600 block of South Saylor Avenue told police Wednesday that her daughter was in contact with two people she believed to be college coaches. The victim never met with the people and communicated with them by phone and email. The victim's coach stated a similar incident happened with another student on the team. The case is pending an investigation. Stolen car Dejuane L. Barnes, 47, of Chicago, was arrested about 6 a.m. Monday at Berteau and North on charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and no valid driver's license. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, an officer saw that Barnes was behind the wheel of a stolen car. Ex-boyfriend's messages A resident in the 100 block of North Haven Road told police Monday that her ex-boyfriend called and sent her text messages that made her feel threatened and worried. She did not sign a complaint. Eluding police Myles C. Mahon, 19, of Forest Park, was arrested shortly after noon Wednesday in the 300 block of South Route 83 on charges of fleeing and eluding officers, reckless driving, speeding, disobeying a traffic control signal and tinted windows. He was released on bond. Driving violations Todd T. Freund, 46, of Pell Lake, Wisconsin, was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Monday at Route 83 and Lake on charges of aggravated driving with a revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, unlawful use of a phone while driving, speeding, no valid registration and improper use of registration. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.Augustine T. Gutierrez, 33, of Des Plaines, was cited about 7 p.m. Monday at St. Charles and Fair on charges of driving with a revoked license and unlawful use of a phone while driving. He was released on bond. Francisco A. Solorio Medina, 21, of Chicago, was cited about 7 p.m. Monday at Evergreen and North on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and loud muffler. He was released on bond. Jorge Olaguez, 26, of Aurora, was cited about 2 a.m. Tuesday at North and Highland on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and no license plate light. He was released on bond. Walfred Gatica Nava, 25, of Aurora, was arrested about 2 a.m. Tuesday at North and Highland on a warrant. He was released on bond. Warrants Michelle K. Arrecis, 23, of Addison, was cited about 9:30 a.m. Monday at North and Highland on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant and on a charge of driving while using a phone. She was released on bond.Laquia Latimer, 38, of Chicago, was arrested about 9 a.m. Wednesday on a DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrant. She was released on bond.Maria Jung, 49, of Villa Park, was arrested about 3 p.m. Wednesday on two DuPage County Sheriff's Office warrants. She was released on bond.
