Encampment Fire Under 405 Freeway Knocked Down

CULVER CITY, CA — A fire was reported Thursday afternoon below the 405 freeway and Venice Boulevard at a homeless encampment. The fire happened around 4:30 p.m., near the border of Los Angeles and Culver City. Both Los Angeles Fire Department and Culver City firefighters were called to knock down the flames. A large fire broke out in the same area in October 2020, according to Yo!Venice. It's unclear what caused the fire. No injuries were immediately reported. Culver City Fire Department is investigating what caused the fire. Fire at homeless encampment south side Venice under 405. Currently several homeless wandering around Sepulveda & Venice.
