Fire Rips Through Charlotte Apartments, Investigation Underway

CHARLOTTE, NC — An early morning fire at a Charlotte apartment complex Friday morning required more than four dozen firefighters to bring it under control and is now under investigation, according to Charlotte Fire Department. According to fire officials, the blaze in the 4600 block of Coronado Drive took the firefighters more than 40 minutes to contain. No one was reported injured in the fire, however damage estimates were at least $425,000, Charlotte Fire officials said. Firefighters responded to the apartment complex located near North Sharon Amity Road around 4 a.m., WSOC reported. At least six apartments were damaged in the fire, the station said.
