TUCSON, AZ — A second man was charged with murder in connection with a carjacking and fatal shooting in downtown Tucson Saturday, Tucson police said. Mark Edward Doe, 52, died in the shooting, which occurred inside a parking garage near East Congress Street and Toole Avenue just after 2 a.m., according to police. Alexis Enrique Diaz, 19, was charged with first-degree murder, drive-by shooting, auto theft, aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated robbery, police said. Diaz is being held in the Pima County Adult Detention Center, and bail was denied, according to police. If convicted, Diaz faces a maximum penalty of either life in prison, with or without parole, or the death penalty on the first-degree murder charge. Diaz also faces between seven and 35 years in prison on the drive-by shooting charge; between 2.5 and 10 years in prison on the auto theft charge; and between two and 8.7 years in prison for the armed robbery charge. Diaz was arrested without incident at a house near North Fourth Avenue and East Roger Road by SWAT members on Wednesday, police said.
