Call for Musicians

Burlington VT

Description

Vermont's music scene has a long history of innovation and experimentation, as well as being a place of preservation of traditional folk styles. Unfortunately, Vermont is also regarded as merely a testing ground for bands to graduate to the "signed" urban scene where its music can be rendered and commercialized under the old-fashioned contract label system. That old system is struggling to maintain itself now and is pushing digitalization and streaming as a new way to keep a talent pool in reserve, conduct data-mining, and make musicians pay to participate in it through subsidiary aggregation. We feel that it's time for Vermont musicians to think outside the box of the old, fixed distribution systems that were put in place decades ago by these labels. We are looking for musicians to participate in a new, localized, decentralized community approach using block-chain technology to construct local art communities, conduct reviews, and develop localized distribution methods (digital and otherwise). If you are a practicing Vermont musician in Vermont that is NOT currently under contract with a label, please read our Whitepaper first at https://cumhachd.com/whitepaper and then contact us for more information.
