Description
when needing repair on auto transmissions heed my words. decades ago did the RV snowbird thing. heard it all and every ugly story re auto trans repairs were true. what seemed to work for most, especially in AZ during "winter" months. NOTE: follow my legend ONLY if you're keeping your car/truck for a few more years. #1: use a Good scanner and scan your car/truck for all codes. check those first. then, hire someone knowledgeable to come to your home and remove your transmission. set it aside. someone mentioned flexplate. use the best. for the truck listed, about $200 +- delivery. then using due diligence, order a fresh rebuilt matching transmission online from company that excels at this work and provides warranty. they will want your old transmission returned. have the individual that removed your transmission, replace the new transmission, flex plate, and new torque converter. make sure all cooler lines are flushed. check your driveline for needed repairs before replacing. use best trans fluid and follow rebuilders break in instructions.
NO, this isn't the "cheapest" route. it's what I use exclusively and what my friends do. doesn't matter if it's a dodge minivan or your KIA car auto transmission. regardless, follow my free advice, or not.
