Brief Position Description: The Groomer provides care, grooming, and basic needs to patients who are being groomed, boarded, or who are patients of Naperville Animal Hospital. In addition to bathing a pet’s fur, groomers inspect the animal for any external signs of parasites, disease, or injury and report their findings to the veterinary staff or owners. Pet groomers are responsible for sanitizing all of the clippers, combs, brushes and other tools used on pets to prevent spreading diseases among their clients. They must also maintain a safe and sanitary work area to mitigate risks to both human and animal visitors. Our grooming facilities are housed in a large, dedicated grooming space which is set apart from the hospital facilities. The bathing, drying and holding area is nearby and offers a quiet atmosphere for the grooming space. All of our talented groomers have their own space to perform their magic with pets as well as ample storage space for supplies which are provided by the clinic. Health Care and Ancillary benefits (i.e., Dental, vision, 401K, etc.) are provided for groomers with over 30 hours per week, along with discounted services for your furry family members.
