Paver Operator / Roller Operator / Asphalt Raker / Skilled General Laborer American Asphalt Paving. – Troy, MI American Asphalt is a family-owned and operated asphalt contractor who is looking to build on our foundation of success by hiring motivated, hard-working, and experienced individuals to work on our Asphalt Paving Crew. Currently, we are looking to hire for the following positions: PAVER OPERATOR / ROLLER OPERATOR / ASPHALT RAKER / LABORER ____________________________________________________________________________ PAVER OPERATOR (at least 2 years experience required) -Thorough understanding of paving to include preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, etc. -Will control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the machine. ROLLER OPERATOR (at least 2 years experience required) -Knowledge of proper equipment operation, break down and finish roll. -Operate machine in successive overlapping passes over surface to be compacted. -Inspect for final quality, i.e., no step or cut marks, drainage problems or trim edges. ASPHALT RAKER (at least 2 years experience required) -Rake asphalt to proper grade and finish before compaction. -Match and finish freshly made asphalt paving joints. -Smooth and adjust surface irregularities and assist the Screed Operator with maintaining the grade and screed extensions. LABORERS (experience required) -Shovel and spread asphalt. -Sealcoat and/or squeegee joints and cracks. -Responsible for jobsite upkeep. _____________________________________________________________________________ Competitive Wages Based on Experience.
