1 or more years experience needed. 3 0r more years experience preferred. OVERVIEW: Underground Testing Technicians are essential to the success of the company. UTT's are responsible for performing testing on underground utility installations, while overseeing the team of Laborers involved in the work. Awareness and enforcement of Safety is crucial in this position. UTT's work under the supervision of the General Superintendent, and as a team with Site Supervisors, Foremen, Operators, Pipe Laborers and Laborers. I. ADMINISTRATIVE A. Represent the company's Mission, Values & Goals. B. Ensure quality, have a positive attitude, be proactive, be willing to work with others, maintain a good work ethic, take ownership. C. Attend daily team meetings, on site as-needed, to coordinate duties. D. Complete and submit a daily timesheet. II. SAFETY A. Be familiar with and practice all Safety Requirements and Excavation Practices on jobsite. B. Train employees on the proper procedures to work in a safe manner and with quality. C. Be responsible and oversee for the Confined Space Entry Procedures. D. Be responsible and oversee for the Vacuum and Air Testing Procedures. E. Recognize job site safety hazards and hold fellow employees and subcontractors accountable. III. CONSTRUCTION PHASE A. Perform vacuum and air testing for Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer. B. Perform hydrostatic testing for all water lines. C. Perform concrete core drilling and sawing. D. Grout, seal, and repair all concrete structures. E. Install underground sewer and water lines. F. Oversee Laborers that are working with you. G. Perform general labor tasks, as needed. H. Be responsible for repairs of equipment, tools and supplies before returning to Box Truck. I. Monitor equipment for calibration, replacement or repair. J. Report to Management. Work as a team member with all positions on site. IV. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES A. In relation to Snow Removal: UTT's are assigned snow jobs by the Project Managers. UTT's are responsible for safe, efficient, thorough snow removal, whether being a laborer, operator or hauling snow. UTT's must be available 24/7 during a snow event and communicate regularly with their Project Manager. UTT's must inform their Project Manager of any schedule conflicts 48 hours prior to a snow event. B. In relation to non-job specific activities: UTT's are required to attend all mandatory Company Meetings, all applicable Safety Meetings/Training, and Tool Box Talk Meetings. V. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING A. High School Diploma or Equivalent B. Working Knowledge of Underground Excavation and Installation of Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer, and Water C. General Knowledge of OSHA Standards, Procedures and Safety D. Confined Space Certification to Perform all Testing Requirements E. Basic Knowledge of Utility Construction and Layout F. Basic Operating Skills and Knowledge of General Maintenance of Small Equipment and Tools VI. REQUIREMENTS A. Valid PA Driver's License B. 18 Years Old or Older C. Ability to Work in a Team Environment D. Willingness to Learn VII. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS A. Extreme weather conditions B. Moderate to high level of noise C. Fumes and airborne particles D. Repetitive vibration E. Uneven surfaces F. Trenching and excavation below ground surface G. Continually strenuous activities To work safely and optimally in this environment an employee should be able to: A. Lift 50 pounds, exert 100 pounds B. Climb, squat, balance, kneel, reach, walk, push, lift and perform repetitive motion C. Effectively receive information visually and auditorily D. Communicate competently
