Description
I’ve been practicing bass a lot lately and would really like to contribute to a fun project. I know practice space is sometimes difficult to come by but someone’s got to have a barn or pole shed somewhere, right? I have experience playing different things, from “indie” rock, death metal, and jazz influenced coffeehouse hip hop.
I work full time with two kids, skate and surf often... so I’m not looking for a rigorous practice schedule but something semi-regular would be cool. Perhaps even sharing recorded tracks to mess around. Genre preference is undefined. I’ve heard the term Dad-rock but don’t know what it means...so...maybe, fugazi? I prefer to play original songs but there are not many venues that I know of in the ocean pines, ocean city, berlin area that are receptive to original music, so I’m including a list of songs that I really enjoy playing on bass that I think a crowd around here could get into.
Khruangbin - Maria tambien
The 5,6,7,8s - woo hoo
The meters - cissy strut
The specials - too much too young
Charles wright - express yourself
April March - laisse tomber les filles
The Jackson 5 - I want you back
My taste is not limited to this kind of music so let me know if you have other ideas. I would describe my skill level as competent. If compared to Michael League, Joe Dart, Matt Freeman, Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke - Beginner. If compared to a beginner - intermediate.
