Description
Gigging cover band needs 4th member: guitar or keys w backup vocals. Jamband influenced 80s, Oldies, Americana, Motown, Classic Rock tunes Guitar OR Keyboard player wanted with back up vocals. Gigging band, we pick songs from many different genres and do them our own style, jamband style means we stretch the songs out with improv jams, rehearsal videos attached so you can get a good idea of the music, all pretty easy songs that should be recognizable. There are a lot of songs here so we're not looking for someone who already knows them - take your time learning them, after all we need you more than you need us :) perhaps you can start off learning a few and we can jam to see if it works. And then add a few songs a week. Perhaps you have songs to sing that we can learn and add? (Overdone bar band cover songs may be vetoed) Next gig is June 5th if you're ready then, great. Only outdoor gigs currently. We do get paid for gigs but don't expect too much until people start coming out for shows again. We DO expect rehearsals until we're tight with you and then after that less rehearsals, more gigs. I had an experience with the guy that says he's a pro, wants money, doesn't need to rehearse and he'll be fine with the material come time to gig. It didn't go well and I won't do that again. Rehearsals are a must. No one cares that you're a pro :) I'd rather have someone fun that likes to rehearse. OK - 2 rehearsals minimum if this material is easy for you: one with me, one with the band. I'm building a Youtube playlist of rehearsal videos to make it easy for new person to learn material. Some of these takes are rough, first takes, long days, lackluster performances, we were still trying to learn the songs, we were more worried about arrangements then singing pretty, etc. Most are not 'sharable' performances FYI. I'm the guy doing most of the singing, the other guitar player is no longer there. I know he rips - you don't have to rip like that. Equally fun to groove on rhythm parts and stuff. Keys would be just as welcome as guitar. These are super fun songs and people love our set list. YouTube playlist will grow as I edit more videos. I'll also add original versions but keep in mind we change the key and style on a lot of them. Sorry the bass doesn't come out well in these recordings. Listen with good speakers to hear how groovy the bass is. We practice in Costa Mesa. The Way You Do The Things You Do I Need You Tonight - INXS Hold Me Now - Thompson Twins Take Me With U - Prince California Blues - Merle Haggard version Don't You Forget About Me - Simple Minds Step It Up and Go Walking On Sunshine - Katrina and the Waves Say You Love Me - Fleetwood Mac Big River - Grateful Dead version The Maker - Daniel Lanois Stoned Me - Van Morrison I Want to Walk You Home - Fats Domino I Second That Emotion Hey Good Lookin Georgia On My Mind YouTube link for playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3J6gQ1NBDZjxTFiH1gYNOlv8clmlQVBK If you listen to these and it haunts your mind that we're not playing them like they do on the record it won't be a good fit. Just something I've learned along the way :) I figured I would add that and save us time. I hope to hear from you!
