Prior experience as a furniture mover, loading/packing a truck. Driving a box truck a plus! Must be a current or previous first responder. Military, Fire Department, EMS, or Law Enforcement back ground or history is REQUIRED! Job Description ————VEHICLE FOREMAN/DRIVER ———— Other than driving, the Vehicle Foreman/driver have to carry out some tasks. They plan what routes to take and how to pack the truck. Supervises the movers and the safe transport of goods in the move. Making sure to complete paperwork about the job. Insure equipment and movers make it safely to and from the warehouse. Also, must be able to do the task of a mover. ———— MOVER ———— Work Conditions of a Mover The lifting and moving weighs more than 70 pounds and the usage of must of proper tools and equipment to lift the item. Mover must have a great lifting technique to avoid getting themselves injured and to prevent damaging the item. More often, they wear their proper uniform to insure safety in performing their job. Movers must be available during business hours from 8am to 8pm at least five days a week; hours per week may vary depending on the demand of the clients. Education The requirements are minimal, but would like to see the following... * Some customer service training * Communication skills Not required but helpful * The ability to analyze situation * Lifting and carrying training * Know some knot ties * Have moving experience * Know how to use tools of this trade Duties of a Mover * Movers are the ones who manage the loading and unloading of furniture from the previous location to its new designated destination. * They are also responsible for assisting the client in moving the things in the area of relocation and placing these things to its appropriate places. * A Mover is also assigned to arrange the large items into the storage unit. * They also take inventories especially in moving the furniture to a long distant place and assure that there will be no defects and scratches in the load they are transporting. * Movers should also have the knowledge in determining what material they should use in wrapping the load to ensure its good condition. * Movers are also tasked in cleaning up the areas and assuring that everything has been delivered in the exact location. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Contract Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
