Description
Volunteer with Columbus Gives Back with planting and maintenance projects at one of the Linden Miracle Gardens! Join Columbus Gives Back to help take care of safe green community spaces in Linden with the Miracle Garden network! We will be working on planting and maintenance projects! When: Sunday, May 30, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Event Leaders: [email protected] Where: 2722-2724 Westerville Rd. Columbus, OH 43224 COVID-19 Precautions: All Columbus Gives Back volunteers are required to wear face masks and observe social distancing as appropriate to complete volunteer tasks. Volunteers who are sick, especially with fever or the growing number of Covid-19 symptoms, should stay home. We highly recommend that our volunteers wash their hands, use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of the event, and/or wear gloves. We will follow whatever safety policy our nonprofit partners have in addition to the safety precautions listed above. Any volunteers determined to neglect these precautions and put other volunteers or the people we serve at risk will be dismissed from the event. In an effort to keep our volunteers, event leaders, and non-profit partners safe we ask that each volunteer or event leader sign up for no more than one event in a seven-day period, in order to limit the number of individuals you come into contact with if you are exposed to Covid-19. If you were exposed before or test positive after having participated in a CGB event, please contact the event leader or reach out to [email protected] so that we can best support contact tracing efforts. About the Miracle Garden: The Miracle Garden is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 to provide creative and sustainable uses of vacant urban lots in the Linden neighborhood of Columbus. The Miracle Garden brings together community members, organizations, local government and businesses to bring about positive change by empowering the community with opportunities for healthy food access, beautification and economic development. About Columbus Gives Back: Columbus Gives Back coordinates group volunteer events with local non-profits, organizes philanthropic happy hours to raise support and awareness for our non-profit partners, and participates in other philanthropic events while emphasizing our social twist: to have fun with volunteers new and old during and after events in the hopes of creating a culture of community engagement amongst our target audience of young professionals. #SocialTwist: We have begun re-introducing social twists, where we invite volunteers to hang out with us after an event to have fun doing something local! As of May 1st, outdoor/patio social twists will be coordinated at the discretion of event leaders and volunteers. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your event leader or [email protected].
