Join us for a screening and discussion of the documentary "What Killed Michael Brown?" with Zoom Q&A from director, Eli Steele, afterwards. "What Killed Michael Brown?" is a documentary film released on October 16, 2020 written and narrated by Shelby Steele, author of the acclaimed book, "White Guilt". The film examines race relations in the United States, and in particular, the 2014 incident in Ferguson, Missouri involving Michael Brown—a young black man who was killed by a police officer after he attacked the officer. Steele claims that "since the 60's, White's have lived under the accusation that they are racist", and goes on to discuss how "poetic truth" and the "politics of victimization" have been used by society in the pursuit of power.
